Anyone know of the status of packdisk?. Especially under 386/ix?

Does anyone know of the current status of the packdisk program for System V?.
Shortly after the original program was posted, many people posted their
own diffs for changes to the program, and it was indicated that these diffs
would eventually be combined into an "official" version. I never got any of
them to compile here under 386/ix, and so decided to wait until the official
version came out. Have I missed it?.
