Cache or no cache motherboard

I can get a '386 motherboard with 8MB (needed to take advantage of
interleaved memory) and no cache for about the same price as a 4MB
board with a cache. Any ideas on which would be preferable for
running a typical small unix system (ie, 4MB is generally enough to
prevent swapping but more ram could be used for disk cache or a ram
disk for /tmp)?
Any suggestions on good motherboards or ones to avoid?
