vpix on SCO UNIX

When dialing in to this SCO UNIX system (on standard com port tty1A) and
attempting to start vpix, I get the error message "Could not set keyboard
INTTYPE" and am then returned to the UNIX sh prompt.

If instead I dial in on one of the ports on a digiboard intelligent
serial card, vpix starts up fine.

The release notes for vpix 1.1 mention that the above error message
may be displayed when using an intelligent serial card, and that
the card's drivers may not adequately support vpix. It doesn't
mention the error message in regards to the standard com ports tty1[aA]
and tty2[aA] though. (It does say vpix directly supports the
non-intelligent multi-port cards that SCO XENIX supports - I assume this
applies to standard com1 and com2.).

This is SCO UNIX 3.2 and vpix 1.1 w/update A.

Did SCO leave vpix support out of the standard serial drivers for UNIX?
Is anyone successfully using SCO UNIX and vpix over a modem on com1 or com2?
Does anyone have any other ideas?

Roger
