A 6x10" image at 300dpi is over 600K bytes.  Even assuming some reasonable
zero compression, it's often 400K.  If you assume a rather optimistic 10K
bytes/sec for your parallel port, that's still 40 seconds per page, which
is much slower than the printer prints.
