Serial port interupts & Uport

Here's a good question.. I have Uport 286 2.3.1.  I have two serial ports
on COM1 and COM2 (Interupts 4/3).  I also have two parallel ports on LPT1 
and LPT2 (7/5).  I just purchased an internal modem I'd like to make COM1.
How do I do this?  I'm out of interupts!  I'm told I can move the LPT2 to
make a COM3 port.  I tried going into the linkkit, moving lp's interupt
vector such that I lose LPT2 for COM3.  I then boot, and now I can't use
serial ports anymore.  What's the proper way of doing this?
