My tty driver works

I've seen many messages posted saying that the uport
tty driver doesn't work at the higher speeds. I have
V/AT 2.3.0 running on an 8MHz AT clone, and I'm running
a news feed, and I sometimes send large files via UUCP.
I'm using a Telebit trailblazer plus at 9600 baud, and
I've sent and received files while doing other intensive
tasks such as compiling, editing, etc. and I still get
transmission rates of up to 800 chars./sec. which is
quite good, and dropouts are quite rare. Also, I have
been running two drives for some time with no problems.
Its true I'm only using one serial port, but that's not
unreasonable for an 8MHz 286. Microport isn't perfect,
but I feel much of the criticism in this group is undeserved.
Now the fact that they lost all records of my update contract
is another story :-) !
