how are password encryped?

So did you folks check how many accounts are blocked with the word
"NOLOGIN" in the password field, or with an asterisk?  (I almost suspect
the ten "CL"'s might be "CLOSED" accounts :-)  Other than that, the
distribution looks pretty flat.
