we have a new 8mm DAT tape drive (SCSI) for a Decstation 5000. 2Gbyte
capacity per cartridge, very nice. what we need to know, before we try
to construct it ourselves, is if there is already A fairly easy to use
and "transparent" software package available (shareware preferably) to
act as a front end or replacement for dump/restore(8) that will allow a
user to dump and restore multiple partitions (from the same machine,
presumably) to a single cartridge without requiring human intervention
other than the requisite tape cartridge changes?

please e-mail. thanks.
