Q: UUCP retries after failure?

Hi folks!

I have a few questions about uucp.

I want to know if uucp is supposed to re-try by itself after a failure. I'd
like to understand what makes it retry; I have not found a crontab entry that
seems to be doing that ... is it some daemon that I don't know of?

Same with the /usr/spool/uucp/STST.<system_name> files that are left after
failures ... who removes them?

I'm running system V.2

Merci,
Thanks in advance!
