UNIX-PC; a bargain?

I have received quite a number of responses regarding the "UNIX-PC"
advertised in the Damark catalog. It appears that the unit is really
a model 7300. For $1498,00 one does not get the development package
(C compiler, libraries, etc.). That package costs $400.00. The operating
system shipped with this model is 3.51.

I was referred to a number at A.T.&T., and the guy there was *very* negative
about the UNIX-PC. Cordial, but negative (e.g., "We have no software for it.").

While several users who responded have used this machine and like it, I
personally have decided to pass. At least at a price of $1498.00.

I appreciate all the responses. Getting information such as this on
short notice is the biggerst virtue of participating in Usenet.
