ALM-2 board and SunOS 4.0.3 (parallel port)

We just brought up a Sun3/260 with SunOS 4.0.3 with an ALM-2 serial/
parallel board.  The serial ports seem to work fine, but the parallel
port seems to have flow control problems.  We have an Epson printer hooked
up to the port using lpd.  It appears that only one buffer worth of data
makes it out to the printer and then the job dies.

There are several mentions of ALM-2 problems in the Release Notes, but 
supposedly they have all been fixed.  Has anybody else had problems with
this configuration?  Any known fixes?
