Hi,

Our machine is a SysV machine which has that archaic limitation on the
file name character length. The machine does not allow a file name
longer than 14 characters long. Woooo.

This causes a lot of problem in porting a public domain software
whose target is mostly BSD machines. Recently, I have ported TeX.
xdvi prevewer. While I was copying the LaTeX fonts, I've found that
some of LaTeX fonts file names are more than 14 characters long.
And this time, there seems no way getting around.

Does anyone know how to get around this problem? BTW our machine
is Ardent Titan.
Thanks.

                       Hugh
