In input mode you can enter ctrl-characters by first pressing <CTRL>-v
and then pressing the ctrl-character.
example :
  To enter ctrl-l into the text :
    Press <CTRL>-v and then <CTRL>-l.

  You can also enter <ESC> by pressing <CTRL>-v and the the <ESC> key.

This is very useful with :map and makes it possible to enter <RETURN>
and other useful ctrl-characters in macros.
