csh variable manipulation

i would like to strip part of a path from a file name in a csh script.
the portion of the path i would like to strip is stored in a variable.

ex. WPATH = /user/tmp/ctree/orig
    FILEN = /user/tmp/ctree/orig/src/dix/newcode.c

i would like to strip the path in WPATH from FILEN leaving

src/dix/newcode.c
