"best" unix box (hw & sw)

Not to ask an improper question, but....

What is the "best" unix box around? By best I mean the most
reliable in terms of system crashes. We are in need of a
multi-tasking system for our business. It needs to be very stable.
I've heard HP is good (HP-UX), and it seems that IBM (AIX) is still a
little buggy? I do not need graphics nor features (ie. bsd would be
nice but system V is probably ok). Cost is of course an issue. This
will start out being a stand-alone system that may grow into a little
net. I/O bandwidth is important (mulitple inputs and outputs with
lots of data).

Any help will be greatly appreciated,
