Can ld rewrite (change a few bytes in) a file named as one of its arguments, and do so without changing the file's timestamp? This is about the only way I can explain some puzzling events. I'm using SunOS 4.0.3 on a Sun3. -Michael Dyck dyck at cs.sfu.ca
