emacs emulation in vi

I know this is bass-ackward, but is there a macro or key-binding
set to make vi act like emacs?? of course, I don't expect all of the
functions of emacs, just the basic cursor movements, file open/closes,
etc. Most of the machines I use have emacs, but one in particular
doesn't (doesn't even have disk space for it).

any help would be appreciated.
