The BSD dump and restore utilities are suppored for the UFS file system
type. They go by the names ufsdump and ufsrestore. They do not appear
to be supported for the S5 filesystem type. Tar and cpio are both
supported. Tar still "doesn't copy empty directories or special
files". Cpio uses a new format, but can still read and write the old
format using some non-intuitive flags.
