Compiling GNU-emacs under UNIX on a 386, SCSI adaptor

Has anyone tried compiling GNU-emacs on a 386 PC-compatible with
a SCSI disk with a SD02 adaptor (the $35 one).

What were the results.

Also, I hear that there is a ported version of GNUemacs under DOS.
Is this true?
