Does Berkeley license allow me to do this? ....

I asked this in comp.unix by mistake.

I've been working on a bridge program (four player) that would
in theory use the existing talkdaemon protocol. My question is, is this
permitted under Berkeley license? Yes, I know the end-user interface
is going to be a kludge because s/he will have to "know" to invoke the
bridge program instead of `talk' when confronted by "talk requested by
user such-and-such." I'm working on it. A multi-person talk is also
in the works.
Please respond via e-mail since I barely have enough time to keep
up with the groups I now read.
