Debugging a child process

I have written two programs, A & B. A starts up, and after a while,
forks, sets up a pipe, then exec's B. The programs then do various
communications over the pipe.

My question is, how can I use dbx (or some other debugger?) to debug program B?
If it matters, I am running on a DecStation 3100 using Ultrix 4.0.

I understand that Saber-C handles this, but we don't have it yet. Am
going to be stuck using printfs?
