rn won't let me follow-up

I've got a rather frustrating problem with the unix machine here. Rn
won't let me follow-up to any articles. I can post via Pnews, but I
can't follow-up to anything. When I find an article I want to reply to,
I type "f". It goes through all the normal stuff and I type in my
article with vi. Everything is fine up to now. I do the ":wq" when
I've finished and the machine give me: "send, abort, edit, list?" I
type "send". No matter what I type in I get "send, abort, edit or
list?". I usually decide to kill the process and save what's left of my
sanity.

So what's going on? It happens every time, so it's not the particular
computer adding characters. If the unix machine is doing it, how do I
stop it? Can I stop it, or is it something I have to talk to the local
unix.gods about? It seems to be only me. I've seen some replies by
other local people around. I hope you can help. Thanks in advance.
