Well......  maybe.  Try fstat(8) [BSD], fuser(8) [SysV], 
and ofiles(8) [PD].  Should these all fail to exist, pstat(8) 
output (with the -i and/or -f flags) can often be massaged 
into something informative enough to get the job done.
