Gosh, why don't people just do the obvious:

whatever shell you want in /etc/passwd.
All shell scripts start with
#!/path/to/shell/that/this/script/should/be/run/thru


Granted, not all shell scripts have that, but doing
"sh filename" hasn't killed me yet.
