KornShell & CDSPELL

I seem to be unable to turn off CDSPELL in the KornShell automatically.  I
can type 'unset CDSPELL' every time interactively, but that command in
.profile or the ENV file doesn't seem to take effect.

CDSPELL seems flakey, which is the reason I want to disable it.  I've got
'/' in my CDPATH and a directory called /g, but if I type 'cd g' I get
'cd .?' -- not very helpful.
