Can't get SCO to use Adaptec SCSI card with HP Vectra 486 (EISA)

Hi,

Does anyone know of any problems using an Adaptec 1542B SCSI controller card on
an HP Vectra 486 (EISA).

I've been trying for about a week to configure ODT 1.0 to recognize a DAT drive
connected to this card. The best I've managed is to hang processes in the
kernel when accessing the tape device file.

Does anyone know of problems with this combination ?

(I suspect HP's implementation of EISA, but HP won't talk to me so I can't find
out)

PS The DAT drive is a wangDAT, if that makes a difference
