X386 server on Paradise or Cirrus chip sets?

I am thinking of buying a portable with a gas plasma display, and
would like to use Thomas Roell's X11R4 server.  Unfortunately, all VGA gas
plasma display cards seem to use either the Paradise or Cirrus chip
sets.  Has anyone gotten the server to work with either chip set?
