We would like to reuse some tk50 tapes. We find that tar chokes
on previously written tapes when it hits an EOF. The conclusion
is to bulk erase them. Does anyone have any info on what the best
field is to put them in - we could put them in a solenoidal field
aligned prependicular or parallel to the tape surface.
ie:
field ||||| |||||
vvvvv vvvvv
tape ------ ||
------ ||
||
or just set them on top of a coil in one of the same orientations.
Can you use reel tape bulk erasers on them? Or any other commercial
eraser?
Thanks,
hurf
