XEDIT Like Editor for UNIX

We have got some users who find vi somewhat unfriendly
(don't see why).

Since many of them are familiar with IBM's XEDIT, they would like
something similar (this is more friendly?). I am also familiar
with Black Beard for the PCs, does anyone know if this is
available for UNIX and where do get it?

Any help is appreciated. I don't have direct access to a
node from which I can do FTP's so if you have some thing and
could send source code, I would be very appreciative.
