DECwindows 2.2 and X11R4

Can X11R4 and DECwindows 2.2 co-exist?

I like to bring up X11R4, but I hesitate to clobber DEC's X-servers. I
have reason to believe that the DECwindows programs will not cooperate
with the standard R4 servers, and I don't know if X4 programs will
cooperate with the DEC X-servers.

Any clues? Experiences?
