NFS option pgthresh

What does the NFS option pgthresh really do?  I've mucked around with
changing it to various values, and haven't noticed any difference...  The
manual says something about "sets the paging threshold for the filesystem
to ## kilobytes" or somesuch.

I've riffled through the NFS docs under both 3.0 and 4.0, and don't see
much.
