Can you recover from bad inode : mangled entry

Power failure apparently corrupted inode for main directory
of partition g (/dev/rz0g). 'ls /user' logs message --
/user: bad dir ino 2 at offset 0: mangled entry

Is fsck or restore from backup the only options? Fsck seems
to find a lot of problems.
