hazardous materials software needed

Skidmore College is at the point of wanting to consolidate its Chemical
Inventory systems into a common, time-shared data base that would run in
the UNIX environment.  This is to continue compliance with OSHA
requirements for inventory and reporting, etc., of hazardous chemicals used
throughout the college including laboratories, physical plant, and others.

We're looking for ideas from anybody out there doing or knowing of a
similar application.
