Non-DEC second drive in RZ5X- dual housing?

I'm running Ultrix 4.0 on a DECstation 3100 as a more-or-less independent
system. The disk configuration consists of an RZ5X-F3 housing with two
positions for SCSI drives, but only one of the positions is filled. I'm
considering purchasing a non-DEC unit (Hitachi, Fujitsu and Wren are on
offer) to fit in the second slot. DEC appear to have provided ample
details on how to fix up the software (thanks, guys - it's appreciated!)
and basic installation instructions for DEC hardware. By all appearances,
the only possible difficulty I can foresee is obtaining a cradle for
mounting the new unit into the housing. [I've installed plenty of disks
on micros, PDPs &c, so I'm familiar with the general considerations].
Have I missed anything?
Please respond by mail where possible - I'll summarize. Thanks!
