Again: Looking for parallel-distributed make

I'm looking for anyone who has implemented a distributed, parallel
under Ultrix make that could be retrofitted into Gnumake.
In particular, if I read the man pages right (don't have full doc's)
for the Ultrix NCS library, you should to start ``brokers'' on a
subset of machines, and farm out make-rules to the servers (or the
local machine too, I guess).
What I want is
(a) [optimal] Patches for gnumake that do this
(b) [suboptimal] an example/demo NCS application, so I don't
have to RT complete FM. I assume this is about as simple
an NCS application as you can get -- I mainly want NCS
to arbitrary down/up machines and load balance.
Anyone have (a) or (b)?
