Anyone doing PWB to V7-VMUNIX-System III conversion?

----------------------

We are currently running a fairly straight PWB system on an 11/70.
We hope to convert to a VAX 780 with a System III license and run VMUNIX.

1: How many of you are getting System III but running VMUNIX just to
get SCCS and what other PWB tools it has? Is there some way to co-ordinate
the effort of porting the nice stuff from System III (like SCCS) to VMUNIX so
that we don't all do all of the work?

	2. Does anyone have advice on going from PWB to VMUNIX? If anyone
else who is facing the conversion at this time wants to share notes just drop
me a line.

3: Has anyone put together a "PWB versus VMUNIX" or "PWB versus
System III" list similar to the one from /usr/group for "Version 7 versus
System III"?

3: One of our users has a system written largely in shell and now
needs to convert lots of shell procedures from the PWB-Mashey shell to a
Version 7 system (with both Bourne and Csh). Has anyone done this before?
Does anyone have a program that does the conversion? Is it more reasonable to
port the Mashey shell to Version 7? Is it legal?!?!

Please respond to peg at mitre-bedford. Thanks - Peggy Craft
