A private conversation with AT&T people at Santa Monica indicated that
troff had finally (24 months later) made it through the release process.
They were under firm instructions from AT&T management and legal types
not to announce anything new until the court ordered cooling off period
is over with.  It was not clear whether one could actually order the
system now or not.
