To all the folks responding via net and mail concerning my multi-hop
UUCP transfers: Thanx! Unfortunately, the concensus was to send the
source file. This is fine for items where the source file exists; in
the case of pacman, I found it laying on my uucppublic doorstep with
nary a source in sight. I am more concerned about the general case
of an archive or a cpio-packed file. In the past I have first dumped
the file into hex or octal and sent that. This gets TREE-MENDOUSLY
long in some cases, obviously. There really should be an agreed-on
way to transfer files just like mail, no?
