First of all, If someone out there can spare a copy of getopt(), how
about putting it in net.sources?  The getopt function effectively parses
command line arguments (switches, options).  Things will become standardized
when people can communicate and share better.

Another approach to standardization is to get a binary license and
don't write any more commands.  Just applications.

An intermediate would be, don't implement any UN*X enhancements until you've
cleared it with some body. (sorta like passing legislation)

I'm looking forward to January's USENIX meeting.  I hope some of you who
like to discuss this type of thing will be there.  Unorganized debate outside
the auditorium is most enlightening.
