I'm from Yale and I've just brought up ARPAnet on an 11/23 running a
version of v7 Unix from DEC. We have a VDH connection to Harvard's IMP.
The 11 is serving as a gateway to our -20s and Vaxes.

My question is: does anyone have any user level documentation for the
NCP we're using? We got the NCP code from USAFA. I surmise from the
comments in the code that the main work was done at BBN and U. of
Illinois. In case this implementation needs further specification, it
is the one with the strange /dev/network special file and the hacked
open sys call. Unfortunately, the strangess of /dev/network and the
meaning of the fields in the extra argument to open are undocumented.
Existing utilities seem to work OK and I can sort of figure out what's
going on by looking at them but I was wodering if some real
documentation exists.
