Sometime back, mention was made of a serious (but hardly unknown)
security flaw (first noticed in Unix but clearly applicable to many
other systems) relating to modern timesharing systems and their
associated terminals.

This original mention was here in UNIX-WIZARDS. Today's L.A. Times
gives it front page coverage, calling the "flaw" the most serious
computer security issue since the invention of computers!?!
The article quoted an SRI researcher and used one of the Berkeley
systems for an example. It also made a big deal about how many government
agencies, etc. used Unix (which is attributed to DEC, by the way, as
I recall!)

Anyway, thought yo'all would be amused.

P.S. I certainly am not going to discuss the "flaw" in detail, except
to say that it isn't really a "flaw", but is more of a complex
interaction problem relating to modern systems and their user
hardware.
