    I have modified our version of dcan (the canon driver for Device
    Independent Troff) to use some of the features on the Imagen 1.8
    IMP.  This makes the drawings done by pic and ideal look better.
    The old dcan moves a dot around to draw things.   The new dcan uses
    the SET-PATH/DRAW-PATH primitives of the imPress language.  If you
    have a 1.8 IMP (or are expecting an upgrade from Imagen soon) and
    already have Kernighan's Device Independent Troff code, drop me a
    note and I'll send you the modifications.
