4.2 INET, do I want it?

I have a couple of 4.2 configuration questions. I have a 750
with UDA50 disk controller and 3MB memory. I tried to get `talk'
to work on my machine which is not connected to any other via
ethernet or something similar. I notice that talk uses INET protocol.
I am wondering what the advantages and disadvantages are of
configuring INET into my kernel. In other words, do I want INET
even though I have no INET type hardware?

How do I get `talk' to work in the cases that I do or don't include
INET? What do I have to put in /etc/hosts for my own machine?
