Doug is right.  While there are real pdp-11's in the thing for
control purposes, anything that requires speed is done by a microprogrammed
bit slice that runs a customed instruction set.  The instructions aren't
those of any existing processor but bare a small resemblance to those
on the 11's (it's real handy, if that's what your used to).
