A HELPFUL HINT FROM HELOISE

In the course of converting our Vax to 4.2BSD (from 4.1BSD) I
noticed that many local mailers and applications programs
were formatting mail (massaged or computer generated) and
attempting to pipe into /etc/delivermail. Not wanting to
restore an antique program merely to keep these programs happy
I noticed that sendmail is roughly downwardly compatible with
	delivermail. Just: 'ln -s /usr/lib/sendmail /etc/delivermail'.

Sendmail can be very powerful once you get into the syntax but
it does use a lot of cpu resources. Remove the
	/usr/lib/sendmail.fc (frozen configuration) file while
debugging addresses, mailers and the like but generate a new
.fc file (sendmail -bz) once you have a stable and workable
	.cf file.
