instability in Berkeley versus AT&T releases

In our HP-UX 2.0 (a SYS3 port to HP 9000 S200) the following program 
crashes the operating system with a 

	panic error: out of swap space

main()
{
	while (malloc(1024)) ;
}

Don't have any problem with our BSD 4.2 1/2 Vax though.
(HP says it will be fixed in the next release that we
don't have yet.)
