robert's point is well taken: U/B is hamstrung by its inhospitability
toward 8-bit virtual circuits.  in fact, the very first byte sent by a
slave uucico is ^P == SYN.  uucico uses SYN to synchronize message
handling before cutting into 'g', which is reliable and flow-controlled.
as a veteran uucp hacker, i say to U/B: thanks, but no thanks.
