Brief "-ms" question

Two questions about the "ms" macros.

1. How do you kill hyphenation? 	and
2. How do you start numbered sections at specific number?

   (i.e. what are the equivalents of the "me"
    ".nh" and ".sh 1 sectname 3" commands...)
