HP 9000 uucp problem

Does anyone know about connecting a VAX BSD 4.3 system to a HP 9000 HPUX
system?  I am having the following problem.  When I try to connect (from
the VAX side) to the HP system, I get a FAILED HANDSHAKE, the HP sends
'RLOGIN' and the BSD uucp seems to expect 'ROK'.  The HP system seems to
be able to call the BSD system no problem, but bidirectional communication
is desired.  Please e-mail responses directly to me.
