Let's assume that you have some problem with the way you are calling the
driver rather than a driver problem. Since cu, kermit, and zmodem all
accept data at up to 9600 baud on a 286, is seems that there is a way to
do it.

Perhaps you should look at the code for kermit and zmodem, both public
domain, and see if anything you're doing is similar enough to provide
information.

For what it's worth it sounds as though you're doing it right, but since
other programs work obviously there's something not quite right.
